David Moyes has ‘Special Bond’ with West Ham-linked player who wants ‘Redemption’ revealed
David Moyes ‘special bond’ with Jesse Lingard revealed as West Ham United move draws closer
David Moyes has a “special bond” with Jesse Lingard, who is currently training with West Ham in a bid to secure a permanent move, which could contribute to his future being at the London Stadium, according to The Athletic.
The football news outlet shared via their website on 15 September that Moyes had once referred to Lingard as his “golden boy” in a training session, prompting teasing from other players, but the bond between the two could now play a part in his return.
It is also reported that Lingard’s willingness to take part in a trial with the Hammers rather than entertain offers from Saudi Arabia has been an encouraging sign for Moyes, as the player could be ready for redemption.
Questions will be asked, but the club should give him his chance
Lingard would not necessarily be a starter at West Ham. The presence of Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta now paints a different picture for the former England international than was the case during his first spell at the club, but he could still be handed a second chance.
Questions will be asked by fans about his commitment to the side, having turned down a return in the summer of 2021 after a fantastic loan spell, but his desire to continue training at Rush Green will certainly provide evidence of the fact. Turning down Saudi offers to continue his work with the Hammers is also a good sign.
