Scaroni confirms he will miss the derby and refuses to tempt fate with prediction Sempre Milan

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni will not be present at San Siro for Saturday’s derby against Inter, he has confirmed today.

It promises to be a tantalising encounter between Milan and their city rivals Inter in the first Derby della Madonnina of the season at San Siro in just six days, with both teams going into the game having won three games out of three in the league.

The word ‘Scudetto’ is already being attached to both teams, and the derby coming directly after the international break will perhaps provide some strong clues as to who are the more likely to go on and win the league title.

However, one person who will not be there to see it is Scaroni, who spoke to reporters present when leaving today’s Lega Assembly in Milan, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“I won’t go to see them, unfortunately I can’t. I’ll be away,” he said.

He was asked if he is feeling confident ahead of the game, choosing not to comment out of superstition: “No, I really can’t…”
