Evan Ferguson in stunning Chelsea transfer prediction ahead of £120m Man City and Arsenal battle
Latest Chelsea transfer news with the Blues tipped to be the team that wins the race between several Premier League clubs for Evan Ferguson

Brighton star Evan Ferguson could be the next big thing in the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all said to be interested. The exciting 18-year-old stole all the headlines last weekend when he scored a hat-trick in the Seagulls’ 3-1 victory against Newcastle.

Ferguson scored a close-range goal in the first half before capping off his three goals with a heavily deflected effort that sandwiched a sumptuous strike from distance. Alongside the three interested clubs, Tottenham were also keeping a close eye on Ferguson as a potential Harry Kane replacement, however his mammoth price tag and a huge transfer claim from Paul Barber means a departure could be some way off.

“In Evan’s case, at least five years’ time!” Barber exclaimed in a recent interview on talkSPORT. “Ultimately, the technical staff are making the key decisions on a player’s development—whether they need more first-team games, a loan spell, or if we should consider a trade earlier or later.”

“It’s going to be a collective decision, driven by the technical staff. We’re relying on them to make those judgments regarding a player’s progress.” Having lost Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo over the summer, Brighton clearly do not want to lose another star player so soon and are therefore demanding £120million if they are to part ways with Ferguson.

With several teams in the race, Owen Hargreaves has made his prediction for where Ferguson will go, when discussing his display against Newcastle, with a sarcastic remark involving Chelsea and Brighton. Speaking on The Kelly & Wrighty Show, he said: “That was against the best defence in the Premier League last season – Dan Burn looked very worried about Ferguson.

“I like the fact that all three goals were different. The first one was an easy one, he was in the right spot. The second was a great goal. He’s a bit of an old school centre-forward, he’s got that physical profile.”

Asked which club is most likely to sign Ferguson, Hargreaves added: “Probably Chelsea because they buy all of Brighton’s players.” Another current hot topic of discussion for Ferguson is his decision to continue playing for Ireland over England with FIFA rules stating that players are eligible to switch nationalities until they have played four competitive games for one country.

Ferguson has played six games but only three have been competitive and therefore he is still eligible to play for England and could follow Jack Grealish and Declan Rice, but he quickly ruled out that suggestion.

“That’s not gonna happen, no. My mam is English, so that’s where the tie comes in. But I’ve seen a few saying oh, will he? Will he? But I can tell you now it’s a no. I wouldn’t be allowed back by my dad.”
