Coventry City are said to have had a £4m transfer bid for Barnsley captain Liam Kitching rejected.
Sky Blues have already brought in eight permanent signings this summer.
Jay Dasilva arrived on a free transfer from Bristol City, striker Ellis Simms signed for an initial £3.5million from Everton and Tatsuhiro Sakamoto joined for £1.5m from Oostende.

Goalkeeper Brad Collins, centre-halves Joel Latibeaudiere from Swansea and Bobby Thomas, Milan van Ewijk and striker Haji Wright for a club record fee of £7.7m from Turkish side Antalyaspor have also all arrived at the CBS Arena.
The club have also added two loans in centre-back Luis Binks from Bologna and attacking midfielder Yasin Ayari from Brighton.
The Barnsley Chronicle report the Tykes have turned down several bids for Kitching from Coventry throughout the summer and want in excess of £5m for the 23-year-old.
Head coach Neill Collins said: “We have very good players. When you have that, there is interest from higher up – it’s a good situation to be in. The club has expectations that need to be met. If not, they will be part of our plans.”
