Nottingham Forest set to bid for Leicester City star with personal terms already agreed

Leicester City transfer news from LeicestershireLive as Nottingham Forest are reported to have made Wilfred Ndidi a top target

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to make a bid for Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

Forest were initially linked with a move for Ndidi last month following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League. Now it is said that City’s East Midlands rivals are pushing to make a deal happen.

On Sunday evening, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Nottingham Forest set to bid for Wilfred Ndidi, proposal expected to be submitted soon for Nigerian DM as he’s top target.

“Understand personal terms have been agreed and negotiations will now start between clubs. Forest will push to make it happen.

Unlike some players tipped to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, Ndidi has featured in all five matches so far this season under new head coach Enzo Maresca, starting all but one. The Foxes have won all five games and sit top of the Championship table with 12 points.

There have already been a couple of big-money sales by Leicester since the end of last term. James Maddison has joined Tottenham and Harvey Barnes has signed for Newcastle United.

Timothy Castagne, meanwhile, looks set to be snapped up by Fulham, and Victor Kristiansen is closing in on a move to Italian side Bologna. Now interest in Ndidi has reared its head again, with the summer transfer window shutting on Friday night (September 1).
