Huge Blow: Another Boss sacked Maldon and Tiptree
PETER Taylor is looking for yet another management job after being sacked by eighth tier side Maldon and Tiptree.
The 70-year-old was dismissed yesterday – despite the Isthmian League North side being unbeaten in the new season. The former Bantams boss had been at the helm since December.
General manager Mitchell Cowling stressed the club wanted to move in a different direction.
He said: “Making this decision so early into a season was not an easy one.
“I had a lengthy conversation with Peter and expressed my apologies for the need to implement changes to the club’s structure.
“I want to clarify that this decision is not based on results or performance, but rather a strategic direction I believe is necessary.
“I value Peter’s dedication and hard work and I will be wishing him success and rooting for him in his future endeavours.”
It was Taylor’s 20th managerial role of his career – including a spell as caretaker boss with England.
He was in charge at City for a year between February 2010 and 2011, winning 19 of his 50 games.
