Huddersfield Town transfer situation following the arrival of Delano Burgzorg as the deadline approaches

With the transfer deadline now less than a week away and business still to be done at the John Smith’s Stadium, the summer transfer window is both closing and heating up.

In less than two weeks, the transfer window will close, giving the Terriers and the rest of their Championship rivals just 12 days to complete any outstanding transactions before the deadline of Friday, September 1 at 11 p.m. UK time.

Huddersfield Town are hoping that the impending deadline will mean the transfer market is now starting to thaw out as they aim to get a few more players in the door to add quality to Neil Warnock’s squad.

Both the gaffer and sporting director Mark Cartwright have been clear that is the priority more than merely bringing in numbers to add depth to the squad. So what do Town want to do – and might we see any more exits?

What have Huddersfield Town’s recent acquisitions entailed?

The first new face of the summer was goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, a free agent who replaced Lee Nicholls when his contract with relegated Blackpool expired.

As long as Ollie Turton is on the road to recovery from his ACL injury, the Terriers now have a seasoned option at right-back thanks to the loan signing of Tom Edwards from Stoke City.
