After turning down interest from Leicester City, Fiorentina has now rejected a bid from Premier League club Brentford for Argentina international Nico Gonzalez.
There have been rumors that the Bees were making a bid for the striker in recent weeks.
The deal was duly presented and promptly rejected by Fiorentina, claims Calciomercato.com.
The idea, while spectacular, fell short of the asking price, which is rumored to be at least €40 million.
Neither did Leicester City, who made an approximate €35 million offer for the 25-year-old left-sided attacking winger in January.
He is eager to collaborate with fellow Argentine Lucas Beltran, who was just signed from River Plate and is also under contract until June 2026.
Fiorentina will not sell one of their star players this late in the day unless a competent substitute has already been lined up for their Serie A season opener against Genoa tomorrow.
