Burnley And Tottenham Hotspur Want To Sign 19 Years Old Youngster

According to reports, a number of teams are interested in acquiring Nordsjaelland forward Ernest Nuamah during this summer’s transfer window, including Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley.

The 19-year-old has had an outstanding start to the Danish Superligaen season 2023–24, scoring five goals in his team’s first four games, including a hat-trick against Viborg on July 21.

Since making his club debut in December 2021, Nuamah has scored 20 goals in 48 appearances, a goal total that has prompted other clubs around Europe to keep an eye on his development.

The winger recently received his first Ghanaian cap, appearing on the bench on June 18 against Madagascar in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley of the Premier League are interested in signing Nuamah before the transfer window closes on September 1.

According to the source, although a deal is still far from being finalized, Vincent Kompany’s Clarets are further along than any other club in their pursuit of the Ghanaian’s services.

Last season’s Championship winners are looking to add firepower to their squad as they aim to avoid an immediate return to the second tier, with winger Nathan Tella returning to parent club Southampton following a productive campaign at Turf Moor in 2022-23.

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs are said to have made an enquiry about a possible deal for Nuamah, as the Lilywhites’ new Australian head coach looks to build a team capable of achieving a top-four finish.

It is understood that Everton are also interested in signing the Nordsjaelland youngster, with the Toffees hoping to distance themselves from a relegation scrap this term.

The finances of the deal could be prohibitive for Sean Dyche’s men, who have spent just under £15m so far this summer on four incomings, including Arnaut Danjuma and Sporting Lisbon’s Youssef Chermiti.

There is said to be some major European players monitoring Nuamah’s situation this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax and AC Milan all taking note of the 19-year-old’s performances in Denmark.

According to the source, the winger is valued at £22 million. Given that Tottenham sold all-time leading goal scorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for more than £100 million, this price tag shouldn’t worry Spurs.

Even though Postecoglou’s team is vying for Nuamah, it’s thought that their primary objective is to sign another center-back before the transfer window closes.
