Wrexham Boss Send Message To Player After Been Rated In Home Win

WREXHAM were in the goals as they beat Walsall 4-2 at The STóK Cae Ras to pick up a first League Two win of the season.

After taking one point from the opening two games, Phil Parkinson’s men got off the mark with Will Boyle, Ollie Palmer, Jake Bickerstaff and Elliot Lee on target in the victory.

BEN FOSTER: One save of note in the first half and couldn’t do anything about the first goal. 6

 

ANTHONY FORDE: Had some joy down the right flank on his return to the side. Pity about goal at the end. 6

EOGHAN O’CONNELL: Wrexham were undone by a well-worked corner and let in a second in stoppage time. 6

 

BEN TOZER: There were a couple of hairy moments at the back as Walsall asked questions of the Reds’ defence. 6

 

WILL BOYLE: Came close to scoring on a couple of occasions before opening his Wrexham account on his home debut. 7

 

JACOB MENDY: Was a threat down the wing supporting attacks and he had the assist for Bickerstaff’s goal. 7

 

JAMES JONES: Got through a lot of work as Walsall gave as good as they got. 6

 

LUKE YOUNG: Good to see the captain back in the side and he broke up play in front of the defence. 7

 

ELLIOT LEE: Close to an early goal and threaded a superb through-ball to Bickerstaff in the first half. Deserved his late goal. 7

 

JAKE BICKERSTAFF: Held the ball up to good effect and linked up well with Palmer in attack. 7

 

OLLIE PALMER: Got off the mark for the season with a stunning looping side-footed volley from outside the area to make it 2-0. 8
