Billy Gilmour Sends Four-Word Message To Ethan Ampadu After Leeds United Done Deal

Chelsea ace Billy Gilmour has sent a four-word message to Ethan Ampadu after the latter made the move to Leeds United.

As per the official Leeds website (19 July), the Wales international has become the club’s first summer signing after joining from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has signed from the West London club for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal until the summer of 2027.

“Let’s go Leeds United family,” Ampadu posted on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone for the welcome. See you all at Elland Road.”

His former Chelsea teammate Gilmour then commented: “All the best mate.”

Despite their various loan moves, more so Ampadu than Gilmour, the duo at least managed to spend some time together at Chelsea, undoubtedly getting on well due to being the same age and often operating in the same position.

But like Gilmour, Ampadu has now decided to forge a career for himself away from Stamford Bridge, which is definitely a smart move given the current situation at Chelsea.

The Blues have a long list of superstars in their squad, and playing chances would have definitely been hard to come by for the Wales international next season.

He can now instead become a fan favourite at Elland Road by playing regular football, hopefully becoming a Whites hero by getting the club promoted back to the Premier League, ideally at the first time of asking.

It’s also a smart move from Leeds, bringing in a youngster, but one with superb experience in the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga, as well as on the international stage.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites need to sell an “incredible” player first to fund a move for a multi-million European ace.
