Agent says 24 years old absolutely’ stays at Milan this summer with formation change
The agent of AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega has said that the Italian will be staying at the club thanks to the change in formation that Stefano Pioli is implementing.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sport Italia (via Milan News), Patrick Bastianelli was very honest about the future of his client. Pobega was rumoured to be leaving the club this summer after very limited game time in 2022/
Milan were playing a 4-2-3-1 formation which meant there were only two positions that he could really play in. There have been rumours that Milan are switching to a 4-3-3, and Bastianelli confirmed that by citing it as a reason for Pobega staying.
“He has a long contract. He will absolutely stay at AC Milan, also because, if there will be a change of formation with the move to the 4-3-3, he could have more space, although he also did well in a two-man midfield with Juric at Torino. This year I believe he can be a protagonist. It was a first year of apprenticeship. This year he will find more space,” Bastianelli said.
Whilst there is now an extra midfield spot available in the Milan starting eleven, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has arrived and Tijjani Reijnders is also set to join.
With Yunus Musah also being linked with a move, Pobega must work hard to get serious minutes.
