Middlesbrough Leading Luton Town bid for Premier League Star With Most Appearance
Wolves have apparently received transfer bids from Luton Town and Middlesbrough for Ryan Giles.
Giles has been back in pre-season with Wolves having spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Boro.
It was a really successful spell at the Riverside Stadium, with Giles finishing as the leading assist-maker in the competition.
He played 45 times in the Championship, missing just one match.
He wowed operating as a left wing-back, and he improved further working under Michael Carrick.
Carrick has been vocal about wanting to sign Giles permanently.
And it looks as though they are now taking steps to do that. But they do face competition from newly promoted Premier League side Luton.
Luton and Middlesbrough make bids for Wolves star Ryan Giles
It is not stated what these bids are and if they are the same or different.
But it does appear that both clubs are looking to snap Giles up permanently and not on loan.
Earlier today, Mail journalist Tom Collomosse reported that Giles could be available for around £5 million.
He also states that there is interest from Luton and Boro.
Wolves should be looking to get more for Ryan Giles
So Wolves now have two offers to consider over Giles.
The suggestion that Giles could be available for £5 million is a little surprising.
Giles may not have played in the Premier League. But he is a proven performer in the Championship, which can be a difficult league to thrive in.
Giles has proven time and time again how good he is a putting the ball into the box
That left foot of his is a real weapon, and he can be a very useful asset for any team with a striker that’s good in the box and in the air.
He’s also very energetic. Strategic player marketing manager Matt Jackson recently branded Giles ‘ a natural athlete’.
Hopefully more teams will come to the table for Giles, and a bidding war breaks out.
Sporting director Matt Hobbs recently revealed that he gets calls all the time about Giles from clubs around Europe.
So you would think he could be sold for more than £5 million.
